Oahu Activities

Whether you are between sessions, or completely wiped out from double overhead surf, there are countless sights and activities to enjoy on Oahu.  There are way too many to list on this site, so we've condensed it down to a few surfer-friendly activities.

Na Hoku II Catamaran Cruise-- The best cruise out of Waikiki, only $30 a person.  She ties off right in front of Duke's Barefoot Bar.  The view is gorgeous and the price includes all you can drink beer, wine, and mixed drinks.

Hanauma Bay-- Located on the South Shore just before Sandy Beach.  The snorkeling here can be fantastic.  It is a nature preserve, so it is good to arrive early because they only allow a certain number of people per day.

Waimea Falls-- Across the street from Waimea bay.  The Waimea Valley Audubon Center has one of the few waterfalls on the island that you can swim under.

Waimea Rock Jump--  At the Western side of Waimea bay, this 30 foot high dive can be thrilling.  There is also a cave where you can swim under the rock.

Turtle Beach-- The first beach after Haleiwa on the North Shore, and the best place on the island to view sea turtles close up.  Its also right between Lanis and Jocko's, so you end up surfing with the turtles.

Tantalus Lookout--  About 15 minutes from Honolulu, this 10-mile long road winds up the mountain right above town, providing spectacular views at 1,610 feet.

International Marketplace--  Waikiki's tropical bazaar, with countless vendor stalls for bartering customers.  This outdoor market with sprawling banyan trees and waterfalls, is the perfect spot to find nicknacks to bring back home.

Night Surfing at Queens Beach--  Right in the middle of Waikiki beach in front of the Duke statue.  This can be an unforgettable experience with no one but you and your friends in the lineup.  Even without a full moon, the lights of Waikiki reflect off the black wave face at this classic surf spot which was once reserved for royalty.
